Nuwby Grading System

The Nuwby Goat grading up process was set in 2001 when this breed was first created after crossing Australian Miniature Goats with Boer, Kalahari & Anglo Nubian goats. Standards were created and modified with the help of many reputable Foundation Breeders to promote the development of this Breed. In 2004 it was decided that this breed would be recognized as a type under the Australian Miniature Goat breed and it was merged. The breed was not lost due to dedicated breeders maintaining a head class section at the shows where this elegant animal could continue to stand and be recognized albeit briefly but enough to keep interests active. In 2017 Breeders rallied and had the Nuwby Breed Standards reinstated and the breed accepted as the recognized breed it had once been.

ELIGIBILITY

Any goat of unknown / unregistered parentage or animals from a foundation breed, meeting the height and breed type requirements is eligible to enter the breeding program and be used in the production of the Nuwby Goat. Maximum percentage of Foundation/Miniature genetics – (for NUWBY) – this breed will require equal percentages of miniature (AM/ND/PY) with the larger breed types to balance height with type/conformation throughout the grading up process. All miniature breeds (AM/ND/PY) will be suitable for second parent in Nuwby breeding.
